General Overview of League Principles
Community Centric League
Kids will be placed on teams with the intentions to create a league that consist of teams that are as competitively balanced as possible. We believe in using sports as a tool to bring everyone together, therefore we encourage our SWAP Kids to embrace the opportunity to make new friends during the season. Parents get to enjoy weekend games within their social circles or create new ones. Why not be able to hang out with your friends, and make new friends while enjoying the game?
Site Directors
Each Site Director acts to oversee and guide each location and their respective staff!
Head Coach/Mentors
All teams within SWAP Sportz leagues are coached by Coaches who are former players/coaches in their respective sports. Our coaches are also provided the necessary guidance from SWAP Sportz to ensure quality is maintain throughout all levels.
Kids First Organization
The focus at SWAP is on (1) the youth participants, (2) the appointed staff.....(3) Everyone else! The league appreciates all the parental support it receives from Parents as Team managers to Grandparents making sure their Grandchild can get to a game. But our main focus is making sure we deliver quality teaching, mentoring, and a enjoyable experience to all of the kids!
Open League Participation
SWAP is open to both boys and girls from Kindergarten to 8th Grade ( some leagues will be limited to 2nd-8th grade). Any previous football/basketball experience is NOT REQUIRED! There are no tryouts, however we do conduct a combine/evaluation opening day to serve as a benchmark for your child’s development throughout their development journey.
Kids Will Be Known
Our staff believes in getting to know each and every child that is placed under our guidance. They will be pushed to grow within their own respective abilities. We value getting our kids to identify, focus, and strive to improve their individual skill level, and ability. “Be the champion of your own race, because that is ultimately where true victory is won!”
One Trophy League
The SFL is a 'one trophy league', only one team will go home with the Champions trophy at the end of the season. There are many of life's best lessons learned via winning, losing and competition. While our league supports recognition and support of character, we believe in teaching life to the youth through sports. One of the best things about our program is that we seek to teach our kids how to both, win and lose, with a winning attitude!
Unique Balance
This league was formed through many elements, inclusive of 30+ years of youth sports involvement as players, coaches, parents and everything in between. The most difficult achievement is a balance between competition and maintaining a proper perspective in youth sports for everyone involved! Our league, the rules which govern it, along with our staff constantly evaluate and alter our course to achieve this balance.
